What TikTok Pixel does
Embedded by advertisers, the TikTok Pixel records the pages you view and actions you take after seeing or clicking a TikTok ad, and feeds TikTok’s ad-targeting and audience-building systems.
What it collects
- Page views and conversion events after ad exposure
- A TikTok advertising identifier via cookies
- Device and browser information
- E-commerce events such as purchases and sign-ups
Should you block TikTok Pixel?
A pure advertising tracker with no functional role on the page. It extends TikTok’s profile of you beyond the app and across the web.
How to block TikTok Pixel
- Install the free GeraGuard extension for Chrome.
- Tracker blocking is on by default — GeraGuard blocks TikTok Pixel and other advertising trackers using regularly updated filter lists, with no setup required.
- Confirm it is blocked by opening the GeraGuard panel, or run the page through the Privacy Scanner.
