What Mixpanel does
Mixpanel focuses on event-level product analytics — which buttons you click, which features you use, and how you move through a funnel — tied to a persistent user identifier so behaviour can be analysed per person over time.
What it collects
- Granular event and feature-usage data
- A persistent per-user identifier
- Funnel and retention behaviour
- Device and session details
Should you block Mixpanel?
More granular than page-level analytics: it profiles your individual feature usage over time. Not required for the product to function.
How to block Mixpanel
- Install the free GeraGuard extension for Chrome.
- Tracker blocking is on by default — GeraGuard blocks Mixpanel and other analytics trackers using regularly updated filter lists, with no setup required.
- Confirm it is blocked by opening the GeraGuard panel, or run the page through the Privacy Scanner.
